It’s no secret we’re obsessed with monochromatic makeup looks. Whether we’re matching our lipstick to our liner, or coordinating our eyeshadow with our blush, we can’t resist rocking one color all over. One of our favorite colors at the moment? Burgundy. The deep red hue looks great on just one part of the face, but when you apply it all over the results are editorial and wearable all at once. Burgundy makeup also screams fall (hint: perfect for back to school), so the time to get practicing is now. Get the burgundy look, ahead: STEP 1: Start by applying a longwear foundation like Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Foundation all over the skin. For a flawless finish, use a flat foundation brush and work outward from the middle of your face. STEP 2: Next, use a multi-purpose product like Urban Decay Lo-Fi Lip Mousse in the shade Amplify and apply to the cheeks using a fluffy blush brush. Don’t be afraid to blend this in with your fingers too; the goal is a natural, flushed finish. STEP 3: To tie in the burgundy blush shade, apply a warm contour shade (think the deepest color in the Naked Flushed palette in Nooner) and carve out the cheekbones, forehead and jawline.STEP 4: Next, add a frosty gold highlight shade like the middle shade in Nooner to the high points of your face. STEP 5: For your brows, start with the deepest shade in the Urban Decay Aphrodisiac Palette, Whiplash, and fill in any sparse areas of your brows. STEP 6: After, apply Glare, a bronzey gold shade, all over the lid and apply Whiplash to your crease.STEP 7: Next, dip into the Maybelline Burgundy Bar Palette and apply the burgundy shade in the crease and up to the brow bone. Then, apply copper eyeshadow into your crease and blend. STEP 8: To complete the look, apply burgundy shadow to the inner corner of the eye. STEP 9: After, line your eyes with a black pencil liner pencil like Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero and apply L’Oréal Voluminous Mascara in Burgundy. STEP 10: For the final step, apply Maybelline Shine Compulsion in Spicy Sangria all over the lips.
