This Neon Eyeliner Look Will Have You Glowing from Far, Far Away
Neon eye makeup always makes us pause during our Insta scroll. Bring on the vivid eyeshadow combinations that look so good they don’t seem real or neon strobing, a.k.a. the shiniest, most intense highlighting method around. You can always find us giving these looks the double tap, but as for conquering them in real life? Not always that simple.
We worked with makeup artist Andi Metro to come up with a 10-step neon eye makeup tutorial that doesn’t take 15 hours to complete. Check out the tutorial ahead to find out how you can be your glowiest, brightest self in no time.
How to Get the Glowing Neon Eye Art Look in 10 Simple Steps:
STEP 1: Use eyeshadow primer as a base, and blend all over your eyelid.
STEP 2: Add a layer of nude shadow. We recommend opting with a shade from the versatile NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Shadow Palette.
STEP 3: Apply dark pink shadow to your crease, blending out past your inner corner to create a wing shape.
STEP 4: Pat black shadow onto your eyelid, following the same wing shape as you did with your pink eyeshadow.
STEP 5: Use a thin eyeshadow brush to create a white line along your crease, creating a thin but sharp cat eye that follows the shape of the shadow you’ve created with your dark pink and black eyeshadow.
STEP 6: Cover the whole look with pink shadow.
STEP 7: Paint a second line over the first using a white liquid liner like Urban Decay Razor Sharp Longwear Liquid Eyeliner in Bump.
STEP 8: Layer on pink pigment powder over your white eyeliner, and then brush the powder under your lash line. Add more white eyeliner over your pink liner to create a neon effect.
STEP 9: Sweep mascara over your lashes.
STEP 10: Finish by lining your waterline with a waterproof black eyeliner pencil.
