This style of blush is called Igari, named after Shinobu Igari, a japanese makeup artist who created the technique. Getting this look is actually pretty simple. “Add the most pigment on the apples of the cheeks, and get up close to the lower lids if possible. It’s best to not add any highlight or contour,” says Georgia Sakurai of Shu Uemura, a leading Japanese makeup brand. The key to nailing this look is placement and picking the right products.
