Wearable Fashion Week Hairstyles We’re Recreating Right This Minute
September 13, 2018Fashion Week is one of the most wonderful times of the year because we’re gifted with new trends in the respective worlds of makeup, hair and nails. They’re always exciting and often a little intimidating — a recent example being the breathtaking floral hair pieces from Rodarte’s Spring 2019 Collection. While you might not be inclined to wear 45 roses in your hair for a night on the town, this gives us an excuse to bring floral hair clips back into our life ASAP. We’re comin’ for you, Etsy.
Ahead, check out four wearable fashion week hairstyles you might find yourself inspired to recreate at home.
We’re not necessarily suggesting that you rip apart your nearest bouquet in order to achieve a Rodarte-inspired look — but don’t let us stop you from doing so if you’re into that. If you need any more inspiration, you should know that Mansur Gavriel was on the #FlowerGame, too. To recreate the look, we recommend using clip ons or other floral accessories. You can never go wrong with scoping out hair accessories on Etsy, but we also can’t stop staring at these floral pins from Urban Outfitters. Could the red ones be any more perfect for fall?
Thin, Feathery Braids
Backstage at Jonathan Simkhai, we were transported back to our youth when we saw thin, feathery braids nearly hidden within tousled, bohemian textured hair. You remember back when you used to make a little braid, tie it off with an elastic and call it a day? Do that now and you’re runway-ready. To recreate it exactly like Simkhai, add one or two beads to the bottom of your feathery-thin braids and add hairspray or texture spray to create boho waves. If thin braids aren’t your style, take inspiration from one of the sleek, low-braids from Cushnie et Ochs.
Colorful Extensions
Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet never fails to bring us all the color, personality and fun. One of the hair looks from the show incorporated a neon hair extension into a low knotted ponytail that, as the amazing Justine Marjan put it, “is soft and touchable.” If you’re looking for something edgier, check out inspo from the villain-inspired locks from The Blonds. In the meantime, please excuse us while we search Amazon for the trendiest extensions out there.
Sleek Styles
Justine Marjan said it first: sleek-looking hair is in. Whether you wear it as a sleek ponytail or braid like we saw time and time again on the runway this season, you can’t go wrong. Our sleek hair inspo is currently coming from several different runways, including Tom Ford, Cushnie and Ulla Johnson.
