DIY Dry Shampoo Recipes for Each Hair Color

DIY Dry Shampoo for Dark Hair

What You’ll Need

  • 2 tbsp arrowroot powder or cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp bentonite or kaolin clay
  • 2 tbsp activated charcoal
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder (add more or less depending on your hair color)
  • 6 drops of essential oil (optional for scent)

Instructions

  • STEP 1:

    Combine the ingredients using a whisk or fork.

  • STEP 2:

    Transfer the ingredients to an empty salt shaker. This recipe yields about half a cup of dry shampoo, so you can store it in the shaker to have on hand for multiple uses.

  • STEP 3:

    Sprinkle the mixture on your roots, using your fingers or a brush to evenly distribute the product.
