Called the Italian bob, the trendy haircut is all about channeling the relaxed glamor of Italy — regardless of whether you spent your summer twirling forkfuls of spaghetti in a restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, or just tapped through endless Instagram stories of aperol spritzes from the comfort of your home. The Italian bob falls somewhere between your chin and your shoulders, not quite reaching lob territory. It resembles a slightly grown-out version of a French bob, another European-inspired haircut trend. Another defining feature of the look is major volume concentrated towards the ends of your hair and around your face, giving the haircut a bombshell vibe.

Besides being fashionable, flirty and flattering, the Italian bob haircut is popular right now because it’s a fairly low-maintenance style with room for customization when it comes to the styling. You wear it straight and sleek or with beachy, tousled waves. You can even add a bang if you’re craving a full hair transformation. Italian bobs also lend themselves well to another hair trend of the moment, the deep side part. Want to try the look yourself? Italian Bob With Tousled Waves

Add some messy waves to your bob using a curling iron for an effortlessly cool effect. Top it off with a texturizing spray, like the Redken Beach Spray

Sleek Italian Bob

When you think of a bob, you probably picture a super sleek, blunt cut. Keep your hair looking smooth and fly-away-free with the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine 10-in-1 Leave-In Spray.

Chin-Length Italian Bob

We love this shorter take on the Italian bob, with some texture and lots of volume around the chin.

Italian Bob With Baby Bangs

Baby bangs, or micro bangs, are another huge hair trend this year and an Italian bob is the perfect way to showcase the piece-y fringe.

Side-Parted Italian Bob

The Italian bob is often styled with a deep side part that falls loosely across the forehead. Retain the effortless-chic movement with the flexible hold of the L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Hair Spray.

Italian Bob With Curtain Bangs

Not ready to commit to micro bangs? Swoopy, curled curtain bangs also look stunning with an Italian bob.

Soft Blunt Italian Bob

The frayed ends of this soft, blunt bob give the classic haircut a modern edge. This haircut has an airy lightness while still concentrating most of its weight towards the bottom in the style of an Italian bob.
