If you haven’t heard of Erin Parsons, chances are you’ve seen her work. She’s Gigi Hadid’s personal makeup artist and the newest global makeup artist for Maybelline. She’s the definition of #goals and uses her love of old films and classic movie stars to inspire her work on fashion’s IT girls. We sat down with her and talked her biggest accomplishments, fave Maybelline products and how she got her start.

How did you get started in makeup?

I lived in a small town in Ohio and I really liked watching old movies and playing with makeup. I was inspired by classic movie stars like Jean Harlow, Marlene Dietrich, Josephine Baker, Marilyn Monroe, Clara Bow, Joan Crawford, and Greta Garbo.

What's your favorite Maybelline product at the moment?

Colossal Big Shot Mascara. It makes my lashes so full and fluffy!

If you weren't a makeup artist, what would you be doing and why?

I would be a film critic, since film was such an inspiration to me when starting my makeup career!  

Aside from a wallet and phone, what do you keep in your bag at all times?

Mascara and nude lip liner.

What moment in your career are you most proud of?

Becoming a Maybelline New York Global Makeup Artist. It is so great to officially be part of the Maybelline family, and together, we will create makeup artistry that will inspire a whole new generation.
