Two Makeup Looks That Prove Purple and Orange are Better Together
January 05, 2018Our “Better Together” series highlights surprising ways two products become — you guessed it — even better when you use them together.
Purple and orange may seem like an unexpected, difficult-to-pull-off eyeshadow combination. However, these shades look gorgeous together and can actually be combined in a number of different ways for a wow result. For best results, try Urban Decay Single Shadows in Spike and Rockstar — the formula is pigmented but blendable, perfect for pulling off a purple and orange eye.
Combo 1: Orange Accent
For this look, created by M Crowd influencer Lonyea Maiden (@MakeupbyLonn), blend purple into your crease and add an orange accent color to the center of the eye, blending towards the inner corner. It a more subtle way to wear these two bold colors, and it will look great on just about anyone.
Combo 2: Sunset Eyes
Sunset eyes are the latest trend to send our beauty editor hearts aflutter, and here’s why: They’re pretty easy to do but will convince everyone in your life you’re capable of makeup magic. You might be used to buffing darker colors into your crease, but this look does the exact opposite, and the results are stunning. The key to rocking this makeup look is blending enough to get that gradient look but not so much that it all ends up looking like one muddy color.
