This Flame Eye Makeup Tutorial Is Literally Fire

All it takes is a quick scroll through Instagram to find makeup artists that are challenging the classic eye makeup looks we know so well. So far, 2020 has brought us boxy liner, floating crease shadow looks and our new favorite: flame shapes. We asked Instagram artist @Aniyah.S to give us her best fire and flame eye makeup tutorial so we could try it ourselves. Here’s what she came up with.

STEP 1: Draw Your Flame

To start the look, use the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Ink Liquid Liner in Black to draw the flame outline. When drawing your flame, feel free to freehand it and get creative as you extend the outline from the inner corner to the outer crease. Make your flames as big or as small as you like.
STEP 2: Fill in Your Flames

Next, pick up the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Liner Stick in Cosmic Yellow and fill in the inner half of your lid, including the inside half of the flame outline. Fill in the other half of the flames with the Epic Wear Liner Stick in Orange Zest.

STEP 3: Complete the Fire

To finish warming up the eye, line the lower lash line with the Epic Wear Liner Stick in Gilded Taupe and complete the look with the Urban Decay Lash Freak Mascara. As a completely optional step, line the upper lash line with the Epic Ink Liquid Liner in Black and apply some red and orange rhinestones for a head-turning finish.
