If You Have Hooded Eyes, This Colorful Eye Makeup Tutorial Is For You
July 07, 2021-
STEP 1:
Start in the Inner Corner
Using the NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Shadow Palette in Festival, dip into the bright yellow shade with a fluffy eyeshadow brush and place the color onto the inner part of the eyelids and slightly above the crease as Mackenzi previously noted. Then, blend to soften the edges around the inner corner.
-
STEP 2:
Create a Gradient
Next, pack the orange shade onto the middle of the eyes and above the crease. Blend to smooth out the edges and to create a gradient with the yellow shadow. Do the same with the hot pink shade on the outer corners of the eyes and extend the color up towards the end of the eyebrow. “Extending the color elongates your eyes,” Mackenzi explains. “Making a rounded shape with the eyeshadow tends to make hooded eyes look more closed off.”
-
STEP 3:
Add a Colorful Liner
Take the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Woodstock and draw a thin line across the lash line to define the eyes, then gently flick the liner out to create a small wing. To ensure the makeup doesn’t disappear into your lid or smear, Mackenzi recommends keeping the eyeliner as thin as possible.
-
STEP 4:
Brighten the Look
Take this look to the next level by adding a neon pop using the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Waterproof Liner in Yellow to thinly outline the magenta eyeliner.
-
STEP 5:
Extend the Sunset
Line your waterline using the Urban Decay eyeliner from earlier, then create the same gradient that’s on the lids along the lower lash line. Use the yellow eyeshadow on the inner lash line, the orange shade along the middle and the hot pink color on the outer area. Complete the look with a swipe of your favorite mascara or a pair of falsies. If you decide to use falsies, Mackenzi recommends using half lashes on the outer lash line to elongate your hooded eyes.
