Maybe it’s because it vaguely reminds us of mint chocolate chip ice cream, but the mint green eyeshadow trend feels very refreshing for summer. Gone are the days of sticking to neutral eye makeup hues — we’re all about bold and bright makeup that will have all eyes on you. While neon is certainly on trend, if you’re more of a pastel kind of gal, the mint green eye makeup look will suit you perfectly. Ahead, find a step-by-step tutorial for this super wearable mint green eyeshadow look created by makeup artist Anne Kohlhagen. “It’s a different take on a fresh, summery look — one that you don’t see everywhere but is still really wearable,” she says.STEP 1: Prime the EyelidBefore you even touch an eyeshadow brush, use an eyeshadow primer to lock in the shadow pigment and keep your makeup looking flawless. We like Lancôme Primer It Boost It Eyeshadow Primer or the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Apply the primer with your fingertip by dabbing it onto your lid. STEP 2: Prep the Eye With a White Base LayerTo really make the mint green shadow pop, first buff out a white kohl eye pencil as a base from lash line to crease. STEP 3: Apply Your Base ColorSelect your base color for the mint green eyeshadow look. We used NYX Professional Makeup Prismatic Shadows in Mermaid, an opalescent mint hue with gold shimmer. For maximum pigment, use a flat eyeshadow brush to tap the color all over the lid.STEP 4: Blend It OutBecause mint green is such a bold color, you want to make sure your eyeshadow look is blended well. Using a lighter shade, like ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Special Delivery, and a nice fluffy blending brush, such as Urban Decay Pro Large Blending Brush, create a subtle edge to the color by buffing it out into your crease. (Note: If you have a darker skin tone, skip the second color and just blend out the single shade.)  STEP 4: Add MascaraAn icy, mint green eyeshadow deserves dramatic lashes to match. Finish off the look with a few coats of the Maybelline New York Colossal Mascara for mega-volume.STEP 5: Finish the Look You can skip the liner with this eye look, but well-groomed brows are a must, and peachy a blush and peach lip will tie it all together. We like L'Oréal Paris Paradise Enchanted Fruit-Scented Blush in Just Curious for your cheeks and Lancôme L'Absolu Gloss in 141 Enfin! for your lips. Read More:A Sunset Eye Makeup Tutorial That Brings the HeatThis Grape Soda Purple Eyeshadow Tutorial Will Have All Eyes on YouThis Deconstructed Eyeliner Tutorial Will Make You Do a Double Take
