How to Elevate Your Natural Makeup Look in 5 Simple Steps
January 18, 2022-
STEP 1:
Let Your Skin Shine
This year is all about having a glowy, natural-looking base. That’s why we’re embracing lightweight foundation alternatives like the YSL Beauty NU Bare Look Tint. Apply it all over your face for sheer coverage that makes your skin appear soft and dewy.

STEP 2:
Add Shimmer to Your Lids
Next, take a shimmering tan cream eyeshadow and swipe it across your entire lid. Williamson uses the IT Cosmetics Superhero No-Tug Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Tough Tan and extends the color just above her crease to make her eyes appear wider.
-
STEP 3:
Define the Outer Corners and Lower Lashline
Using a rich deep brown shade (Williamson swears by the IT Cosmetics Superhero No-Tug Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Fearless Ember), draw a V-shape at the outer corner of your eye. Using a small, precise brush, smudge and blend the shape inwards towards the crease, as well as the outer portion of your lower lash line. Brown adds definition but is less dramatic than stark black.
-
STEP 4:
Make Your Lashes Pop
To create the illusion of longer, fuller lashes, start by tightlining the inner rim of your upper lash line with a black eyeliner pencil. Next, add two coats of mascara. We love the Lancôme Lash Idôle Mascara for the fluttery, voluminous effect it gives.
-
STEP 5:
Drench Your Lips in Gloss
A high-shine lip is the perfect way to polish off this neutral look. For added definition, trace your lips with a pencil one to two shades darker than your skin tone, then top it with the NYX Professional Makeup This Is Juice Gloss in Coconut Chill. This gloss is packed with electrolytes and conditioning oils, so your lips will feel moisturized and have a mirror-like shine.
