For my liner base, I used the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in 1993, a true matte brown. A big part of the cherry cola lip look is to blend your liner to fill in your lips rather than just outline them, so you have a completely or mostly brown base for your gloss. The creamy formula of the Urban Decay lip liner was perfect for this. If you don’t have brown lip liner or it’s just not your vibe, you can adapt the trend with a dark burgundy or more of a red-brown shade for a similar effect.

Next, I went in with my red lip gloss. One of my favorite lippies right now just so happens to be a cherry-hued gloss — the YSL Beauty Rouge Volupté Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick in Red Crush. The buildable pigment, balmy texture and easy-to-use stick format make this lip gloss an instant staple. I swiped it across my top and bottom lips and tapped with my finger to blend.

And that’s all there is to it. I’m always going to get behind a simple, two-step beauty trend, but cherry cola lip gloss is as adorable as it is easy to create. My lips looked juicy and flushed with vibrant color, like I had been snacking on actual cherries all afternoon. BRB, just going to grab a bottle of ice cold soda.
