This TikTok Lipstick Hack Gives Us Major ‘90s Vibes

One thing is certain: there’s no shortage of makeup hacks on TikTok. There’s a new viral beauty trick cropping up in BeautyTok daily. The concealer for lip liner and lipstick hack is the latest to join the variety and it’s exactly what it sounds like. The trick involves using your concealer to line your lips and fill them in with color when you don’t have lipstick on hand. The result is a shockingly gorgeous contrasted lip look that gives us major ‘90s vibes (think: heavily-lined, ultra-juicy brown lips). Keep reading to get the scoop on the hot tip.
As with most TikTok tips and tricks, it can be hard to narrow down who exactly started the trend, but this video from user Kyra Nikole breaks it down in an easy-to-follow way. In the caption, she said “[This is] what I like to do when I can’t find the right lip liner and lipstick.”
To nail the hack, you’ll need two brown concealers, one darker than the other. We love the Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer because it’s super creamy and easy to blend.
Step 1: Outline
Using the darker shade, outline your lips with the applicator (similar to how you would with a lip liner pencil.)
Step 2: Blot
Take the lighter concealer shade and blot it along the inner part of your lips.
Step 3: Blend
Take a blending brush and blend the concealers together for a two-tone, ‘90s-esque lip look.
Step 4: Add Gloss
To top it off, add a high-shine gloss, like the NYX Professional Makeup This is Juice Lip Gloss.
