5 Beach Bag Makeup Must-Haves
August 02, 2017For starters, you can definitely wear makeup at the beach (as long as you have your SPF on too) so ignore any one who says the you shouldn’t. We personally love dewy, glowy no makeup-makeup looks for our days in the sun, complete with shimmery, glazed donut highlight and a moisturizing gloss. We’ve already started counting down the days until we can spend our days laid out on the beach so in the meantime, we’ve put together a list of our beach bag makeup essentials that we can’t live without.
Lip Balm
Lip balm is an absolute must for a day at the beach, even better if it has SPF. We recommend Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm, a lip balm that offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and nourishing, moisturizing ingredients.
Facial Mist
Facial mists are perfect for refreshing skin throughout the day, especially during a long day at the beach. We love the La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water Spray, packed with powerful antioxidants to tone and reinvigorate your skin.
A Summer Foundation
IT Cosmetics CC cream has a high SPF for a little extra protection during your day in the sun and is perfect for covering up any post-beach redness. It’s texture is lightweight enough for a full day at the beach and has enough coverage to give skin a flawless finish.
Cream Highlighter
Even though sun supplies all the glow you need, a little extra never hurts. That’s why we recommend NYX Dose of Dew Face Gloss highlighter — it’s all of the glow with none of the sparkle, making it perfect for a day at the beach. Sweep this on the high points of your cheeks and forehead for a hydrated, dewy look. If you’re looking for something with even more color try Maybelline Master Strobing Stick in Medium Nude Glow.
Waterproof Mascara
You should never have to choose between long lashes and the beach. Lucky for you, waterproof mascara exists. For the perfect mix of length and volume, try L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara — an editor and influencer favorite.
Sunscreen
SPF is essential for a day at the beach — so we’re always on the hunt for a mineral sunscreen that won’t leave a white cast on our skin as it dries. This led us to La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Ultra-Light Tinted Mineral Sunscreen, a lightweight formula that feels hydrating and matches a wide range of complexions.
Micellar Water
Whether you’re wearing a full face of makeup or not, micellar water is perfect for removing makeup and excess oils from the skin. We recommend the Garnier Skinactive Micellar Water, an all-in-one formula that is gentle, yet effective and doesn’t need to be rinsed after use.
