We’re celebrating National Brow Day all week long, so we decided to test out the latest and greatest brow products on the market this season. Our most recent test drive is the NYX Professional Makeup Zero to Brow Longwear Gel — a long-wearing, pigmented and precise brow product that promises to literally take your brows from zero to hero. Here, six editors tested it out and read on to learn if it lives up to their (very high!) brow standards.

NYX Professional Makeup Zero to Brow Longwear Gel Review

Alanna, Managing Editor

Shade: Chocolate

I love a pigmented brow product, and this brow gel delivers! It’s super thick and creamy but buildable, so it allows you to fill in any sparse areas with ease. The spoolie is thorough and thin, too, which makes it easy to blend in the pigment and comb hairs in place. It’s pretty much everything you want in a brow product — long-lasting, buildable yet saturated and keeps my brows looking snatched all day!

As an oily-skin girl, my brows are one of the first things that tend to fade or melt off throughout the day, especially if I’m not setting them correctly. This has to be one of the best brow gels I have ever used. I was surprised that even during the summer, this held up in the hot and humid temperatures. What I really love about this product is the fact that a little goes a long way and you can build up your brows to be as thick as desired with just a couple swipes of the gel. It’s definitely one that I can’t stop using after testing it out two months ago.

When it comes to brow innovations. NYX Professional Makeup always does right by my brow hairs. I often reach for the same brow gels when I do my makeup, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Zero to Brow gel that allows for  a more controlled brow application. I was concerned at first that I’d use too much product with the small wand, but the precise doe foot made it easy to control how much product I applied. The gel dries after 60 seconds, which gives me time to brush and shape my brows in the desired direction — and once the product does set, I know my brows aren’t going anywhere. I love the subtle laminated look this brow product gives and how easy it is to remove with a waterproof makeup wipe.

Shade: Taupe

I typically shy away from tinted brow products, but this one may have changed my mind. It’s easily buildable and not too thick, so it doesn’t create clumps or smudge as I’m applying. Plus, it keeps my brows looking super full and lush all day. To apply, I like to coat my brows in the product starting just before the arch and working backwards to the tail, leaving the front of my brows bare. I then use the attached spoolie to brush the product through and carve out the shape I like — all of these steps take less than a minute and give my brows major fullness!

I'm always up for trying new brow products, and this gel didn't disappoint! What I love about it is the dual-ended design. One side lets me apply the product with precision, and the other side is perfect for brushing out my brows. It's a game-changer for me because I can shape my brows exactly how I want without worrying about overdoing it. It's a convenient and versatile gem for both brow beginners and experts!

Typically, my approach to my eyebrow makeup is as simple as it gets — a few swipes of clear brow gel to brush them in place and keep them there. But I love the look of a full, strong brow. I’ve just never had the patience or precision to fill in my brows with a pen or pencil. Enter: This ultra-pigmented brow gel from NYX Professional Makeup. I’m more comfortable with a gel than a pencil or powder, and the tiny doe foot applicator allows me to be extra precise with where I place the pigment. This handy dual-ended brow tool also comes with a spoolie brush to blend and groom. I was finally able to get the bold brows of my dreams with minimal time and effort.
