A Definitive List of Every Makeup Product I’ve Ordered While Social Distancing
July 06, 2020When armed with an Amazon Prime account and my credit card, some serious online beauty shopping ensues. Over the past few months while social distancing, I’ve added a handful of foundations, setting powders, mascaras, lip balms and eyeliners to my cart in the name of revamping my makeup routine with products to create a Zoom-appropriate face beat and that won’t smudge or transfer when I wear a face mask outside. In case you need some online shopping inspo for your own routine, I’m rounding up a definitive list of every product I’ve ordered from Amazon while social distancing, ahead.
Maybelline New York Matte and Poreless Fit Me Pouch
While I’m normally a dewy makeup stan, I’ve been leaning more towards matte finishes this summer. Given my glowy skin-care prep and the inevitable sweat that comes with the summer heat, I’ve been finding that a matte foundation is key to keep me from looking greasy. My current go-to is this option from Maybelline. The formula is a long-time favorite, but the pouch packaging makes application mess-free, precise and easy-to-use.
Dermablend Loose Setting Powder
As places start to open up (depending on where you’re located), I’m very conscious not to go anywhere without a face mask on. But when it comes to wearing a face mask with makeup, things can get a little tricky. To prevent transfer and to make sure my foundation and concealer stay put throughout the day, I’ve been leaning on the Dermablend Loose Setting Powder. It controls shine, minimizes the appearance of pores and gives makeup a long-wear matte finish, all while keeping the inside of my mask squeaky clean.
L’Oréal Paris Bambi Eye Washable Mascara
Although my makeup has been much more minimal these past few months, I’ve made a point to swipe on a bit of mascara each and every day. My current fave is the Bambi Eye Mascara from L’Oréal. It gives my otherwise straight lashes a nice curl and additional volume. While it’s my must-have for a Zoom call makeup look, I know that this product will be in my makeup bag for the long haul.
Maybelline New York Dream BB Pure
If you’re anything like me and have had breakout after breakout these past few months, a BB cream is a must-try. This formula from Maybelline has been my skin’s savior thanks to the inclusion of salicylic acid to help fight blemishes and conceal imperfections. Plus, it has a super lightweight feel, making it ideal for the summer months.
While slathering sunscreen on my face and body is a given, I’m also very cognizant about protecting my lips. This Sun Bum Tinted Lip Balm has SPF 15 so I know my lips won’t get burnt. Plus, it comes in a handful of great shades that pair well with any makeup look.
L’Oréal Paris Elvive Color Vibrancy Purple Shampoo
With salons being closed, my fake blonde hair was looking very brassy. As I wait for my nearby salon to reopen, I’ve been washing my hair with this purple shampoo from L’Oréal Paris. It removes unwanted orange hues and makes my hair look fresh and vibrant. Once I am able to get my color touched up, this product will remain in my shower to give my hair a refresh between appointments (and I can’t wait!).
NYX Professional Makeup Epic Ink Liner
I’m not skilled in the eyeliner department — I’m an amateur at best. But I’ve used the past few months to up my eyeliner game and this NYX eyeliner has been by my side through it all. It’s super easy to use, has a precise, flexible tip and provides a bold look with minimal effort.
