I love lightweight, dewy complexion products that even out my skin tone without looking cakey, and this option by YSL goes above and beyond. It’s breathable, feels hydrating and blends in just as easily with my fingers as it does with a sponge. When I wear foundation, my skin typically starts looking flaky and dry by the end of the day, or I notice the product settling into lines I didn’t even realize I had. That’s never happened once with this forgiving formula. It’s the ultimate in effortless makeup, and I haven’t put it down since it landed on my desk last month.

I’m not the first to volunteer to try a lightweight foundation product — I usually like my look full-coverage and matte. I was intrigued, though, when this YSL tint landed in my mailbox only because it promises a buildable finish and has hyaluronic acid (particularly good for my eczema-prone complexion). I was pleasantly surprised when I tested this out for the first time because it was easy to layer on for more coverage, yet it still felt lightweight and cake-free on the skin. I also loved that it gave me a radiant, glowy finish without excess oil or shine. This tint may have just convinced me that less is more, and maybe my full-coverage needs can be a thing of the past.

Shade: NU 16This has become one of my favorite products this year. As someone with textured, acne-prone skin, I can be a bit picky when it comes to what I put on my face so I’m surprised at how much I love the YSL Beauty NU Bare Look Tint. This is one of the most natural-looking complexion products I own and I can’t stop reaching for it. I love the fact that on days when my skin is looking a bit dull, it adds a natural-looking glow, while still looking like my skin. If you’re looking for an everyday skin tint, you have to try this out!

Whenever I hear about a lightweight face makeup with good-for-your-skin ingredients that also promises buildable coverage, my response is, ‘Sign me up!’ The YSL Beauty Nu Bare Look Tint’s water-cream texture formulated with hyaluronic acid for a boost of hydration delivered on all of that. It’s a skinimalist’s dream. I tried it in the shade NU 13, which is perfect for my tan complexion with yellow undertones. A few drops is all I need to go from looking washed-out to faking a year-round summer glow. I layer it on top of the YSL Beauty NU Tone Corrector in Rosy on days I decide to do a full face and want an even smoother, blurred look.

In recent years, I’ve strayed from regularly using foundation because it tends to get cakey throughout the day and feel too heavy. I only decided to recommit to complexion makeup after skin tints became the latest trend — these makeup-skincare hybrids often include a variety of skincare benefits. This one from YSL Beauty is formulated with hyaluronic acid, glycerin and brightening mallow which together promise to deliver 24 hours of hydration. The buildable, lightweight coverage feels weightless and provides me with a flawless, evened-out finish that lasts all day and doesn’t weigh me down. It was my go-to face makeup in the summer, and I’m excited to continue using it into the colder months for an instant filtered look and an extra layer of hydration.
